Science aptitude & knowledge program

Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan Sastra Pratibha Contest (VVM-SPC)

Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan Sastra Pratibha Contest (VVM-SPC) is an initiative of Science India Forum in collaboration with Vijnana Bharati (VIBHA), NCERT and the National Council of Science Museums. It is an international program for popularizing science among students of standards VI to XI and identifying young minds with scientific aptitude.

Experiential learning and hands-on activities
Understanding India’s scientific heritage and Indian Knowledge System
Peer evaluation, 360-degree assessment and mentorship
Visits to national laboratories such as ISRO, CSIR, DRDO, IITs, IISERs and NITs
Personality development, leadership skills and holistic development

Learning through doing

National Children’s Science Congress

National Children’s Science Congress encourages students to learn science by doing. Schools following the Indian syllabus in Oman can send a maximum of four teams/projects, with two teams each from Junior and Senior categories.

Junior Category: 10 years to less than 14 years
Senior Category: 14 years to less than 17 years

Teams can have up to two children guided by school teachers or science coordinators.
Evaluation considers originality, relevance, scientific understanding, data collection, experimentation, analysis, teamwork and presentation.
Selected projects are considered for participation in the National Children’s Science Congress in India.

For students, guides and science coordinators

Important Notes for NCSC Projects

Project Guides and Science Coordinators are encouraged to help children choose topics with enough scope for simple experiments and surveys.
Conclusions should be supported by data and observations, ideally from both experiments and surveys.
Team selection is done exclusively through schools.
